Milito to make sacrifices

Diego Milito says he would sacrifice personal glory for Champions League qualification.

Real Zaragoza striker Diego Milito says he would sacrifice personal glory for helping his team to UEFA Champions League qualification.

Milito is the joint highest scorer in Spain with 19 goals but is adamant he is focused on his team's objective rather than fending off the likes of Fredi Kanoute and Ronaldinho for the top scorer prize in La Liga.

Milito attributes his own form to the impressive performances of his team-mates who have helped Zaragoza into fourth place.

"I am very happy with my performances and I must thank the team for helping me become one of the top scorers in Spain," Milito told the Argentine press.

"I would like to be the top scorer when the championship ends but I prefer first of all a good campaign for the team."

Milito's form has been such that a number of clubs are reported to be monitoring the Argentine but the player insists he is focused on his Zaragoza career.

"I am under contract with Zaragoza for four more years and I want to respect what has been signed so the only thing that I have in my mind is next Sunday's match against Nastic (Gimnastic de Tarragona)."
