Luis Suarez feels concentration is key for Barcelona and says beating PSG 3-1 was more important than scoring twice

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez says his team will not be taking anything for granted in next week’s return tie with Paris Saint-Germain, despite winning the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final 3-1 on Wednesday night.

Suarez scored a second-half brace against the Ligue 1 champions at the Parc des Princes, the Uruguay international’s 10th and 11th strikes in just his last 11 games for Barca.

However, despite taking a two-goal advantage with them into the second leg at the Nou Camp on Tuesday evening, Suarez says Barcelona will be preparing for that encounter in exactly the same way as they did for the match in the French capital.

“We knew before the game that if we do not start concentrating right from the start, we cannot win the game, and in this situation against a big team we have to concentrate,” he told Sky Sports.

“We know it is an important game today and that we have a really good result, but in football you never know what can happen. We have 90 more minutes to play and we need to start the same as we did today.”

Suarez, meanwhile, refused to take any plaudits for his two goals after the full-time whistle, simply saying: “It is more important to win the game than for me to score.”
