Chelsea and Tottenham also linked with France international

Atletico Madrid have emerged as the new favourites to sign Antoine Griezmann after Sky Bet reported a surge of bets on the Frenchman’s future.
The attacking midfielder has been linked with a series of clubs this summer, having caught the eye with 16 goals for Real Sociedad in La Liga last season and then also impressing for France at the World Cup.
Premier League duo Tottenham and Chelsea have been mentioned as possible suitors but Sky Bet’s transfer betting suggests a move to the Vicente Calderon is more likely.
The online bookmaker reported a sudden run of interest on Atletico securing his services, with a succession of significant bets at short odds prompting them to suspend betting on the market.
Big-spending French duo PSG and Monaco had previously been well backed to land the 23-year-old with Sociedad, who finished seven in La Liga last season, seemingly facing a tough task in holding on to their star man, with reports suggesting a £25m buy-out clause in his contract.
Sky Bet’s Chris Spicer said: “It’s a market we’ve seen quite a bit of interest in with PSG previously attracting the majority of the money, while Tottenham and Chelsea have been subject to only a few small bets despite media reports linking them.
“However, all of the money on Friday was for Atletico to sign him, prompting us to slash their price from 12/1 to evens and then eventually suspend the market.”
