Real Sociedad manager David Moyes may not be in charge next season after "underachieving" since taking over at the Anoeta, according to Spanish football expert Terry Gibson.
Moyes replaced previous coach Jagoba Arrasate on an 18-month contract last November with Sociedad struggling down in 15th place in La Liga.
But following their goalless draw at home to Villarreal on Saturday, Sociedad find themselves 12th in the table - well clear of the drop zone but 14 points behind their opponents on the weekend in the final European spot.
Gibson thinks the former Manchester United boss should have done better, given the calibre of players at his disposal.
"He did not bring anybody in during the transfer window, which was probably the right decision as I think they were probably always going to be safe," he told the La Liga Weekly podcast.
"So why rush out and spend a lot of money before you really assess? He had not been there long before the transfer window opened, so that probably was the right decision.
"I think they have a solid squad. Three-quarters of the squad are more than capable of getting Sociedad back into contention for a European spot. They just need three or four more players, some creativity in midfield and a bit of pace up front.
"But I still think they have underachieved since David Moyes has taken over. They certainly have not been inspiring. And I think that if we are judging it, we would probably say he has achieved the minimum requirement by keeping them just out of the relegation fight. No more, no less.
"It is going to be interesting. There might be one or two jobs up and they might have a new manager at Real Sociedad next season. It is still to be seen what happens and whether various Premier League clubs change their coaches.
"He will look upon it as a good experience I am sure. But at the moment I am sure his mind will be fixed on looking at various players and by now he will have assessed what he needs, and then if he stays we can really truly judge him this time next season."
