Reserve goalkeeper poised for Spurs exit

Valencia have confirmed they are interested in signing Tottenham goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez. The Spanish side are in the market for a new keeper with first-choice custodian Renan Brito facing a six-week spell on the sidelines through injury. Cesar has failed to impress at White Hart Lane since his arrival from Real Zaragoza last summer. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp admitted over the weekend that Cesar was not in his plans after claiming he does not have any faith in the 37-year-old. Valencia are now ready to end his nightmare in North London by bringing him to La Mestalla. "We need to sign a goalkeeper because of the injury to Renan. We must also think about finances and the economic situation of the club," said Valencia coach Unai Emery. "Cesar fits into these parameters. He already knows the Spanish league and he would adapt and be incorporated immediately. He would be ready to come and although he is 37 years old he is full of desire."
