Former Newcastle forward out for a month

Malaga forward Albert Luque is facing a month on the sidelines after suffering a thigh injury in Sunday's clash with Valladolid. The former Newcastle player, who is on loan with the Spanish outfit from Ajax, ruptured a muscle in his left leg after coming on for the final four minutes of the 2-1 victory. Luque, who endured a miserable two-year stay at St James' Park after his £9.5million move from Deportivo La Coruna, is still to find the target for Malaga and has been hampered by a number of injury problems. His stint with Newcastle, who he made just six Premier League starts for in two years, came to an end in August last year with a £2million move to Ajax. The Spain international will miss the forthcoming Primera Liga fixtures against Recreativo Huelva, Getafe and Sevilla, but could return to tackle Barcelona at the start of November.
