Tomas Ujfalusi has admitted that he jumped at the chance to join Atletico Madrid once he heard of their interest.
The Czech Republic international recently completed his move to the Vicente Calderon from Fiorentina, and is relishing his new challenge.
Atletico are back in the UEFA Champions League, and Ujfalusi believes that the switch was too good an opportunity to turn down, given the size and popularity of the club.
"I am very happy to have come to a great club like Atletico Madrid, who are building a great team. They are one of the best known teams in Spain and Europe, with great players and I expect to win trophies here," he told reporters.
"When a player has the possibility to choose, he will choose the best. I had offers from several other teams, but when my agent told me about Atletico's interest I told him immediately that I liked the idea.
"I have played in German and Italian football and I wanted to have a different experience by playing in Spain.
"Having the chance to play for a great side like Atletico de Madrid is also something I wanted to try."
