Feyenoord have confirmed the signing of Denmark international Jon Dahl Tomasson from Villarreal.

Denmark international signs three-year deal

Feyenoord have confirmed the signing of Denmark international Jon Dahl Tomasson from Villarreal. The 31-year-old played for Feyenoord earlier in his career and has now returned on a free transfer after a disappointing spell in Spain. He struggled to establish himself as a regular starter with Villarreal and will be hoping for greater success at De Kuip. Tomasson, who has signed a three-year deal, is expected to partner Roy Makaay up front when the new season kicks off.

Lee set for exit

Meanwhile, South Korean forward Lee Chun-soo looks set to leave Feyenoord following Tomasson's arrival. He failed to make an impact after moving from K-League's Ulsan Hyundai last summer and could now be about to return to his homeland. Jeonbuk Motors have claimed that Feyenoord offered Lee to the club, but they were not able to meet the player's £2.5million transfer fee. "Feyenoord offered Lee Chun-soo to us earlier in the week," Jeonbuk's chief executive Baek Sung-kwon said on Yonhap News. "Lee would be a great fit with national team striker Cho Jae-jin. It would certainly boost the team's profile. "However we find the transfer fee to be too high." Feyenoord have also announced that defender Andre Bahia is to sign a new long-term deal keeping him at the club until 2012.
