Midfielder wanted in Premier League

Esteban Granero could move to the Premier League in the summer, if he fails to secure regular football at Real Madrid. The promising midfielder is spending this season on loan at Getafe, but is determined to forge a career at the Bernabeu. Real coach Bernd Schuster is keen to assess the youngster in pre-season training, but Granero's agent is not ruling out a transfer. Bolton and West Ham United tried to sign the Spain Under 21 international last summer, while reports claim Tottenham Hotspur have been watching Granero. The player's representative Teo Lazaro admits a switch to England will be considered if he is not part of Real's plans next term.

Great footballer

"Granero is a great footballer with a great future and last summer we rejected offers from West Ham and Bolton," said Lazaro in the News of the World. "The money was excellent, but Esteban preferred to stay in Spain. "But now, if things do not change at Real, we will look at every option."
