Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Gustavo Munua has avoided a six-month prison sentence, despite being found guilty of aggression.
The Uruguay international was sentenced to a six-month spell behind bars after being charged following an attack on team-mate Dudu Aouate.
However, Munua - who has made 22 appearances for Deportivo - will instead be allowed to pay a 3,600 euros (£2,690) fine because he has no previous offences.
Munua punched Aouate during a dispute in Deportivo's changing room earlier in January and the Israel goalkeeper required several stitches around his left eye.
It is thought that Munua is unhappy at the Riazor stadium after losing his place in the first-team to Aouate.
Deportivo coach Miguel Angel Lotina dropped the two players following the incident and they continue to train at different times.
Munua played for Uruguay in the finals of the 2002 World Cup and has won 25 caps for his country.
