Atletico Madrid's Leo Franco and Jurado have both been ruled out for a month with muscle strains.

Duo will not feature again until the new year

Atletico Madrid's Leo Franco and Jurado have both been ruled out for a month with muscle strains. Argentinean international keeper Leo Franco suffered the unfortunate injury during Sunday's 2-0 victory over Real Betis and he will definitely be out of Atletico's Uefa Cup game against FC Copenhagen on Wednesday night. If the predictions of the club doctor prove to be correct, then Leo Franco could also miss the Uefa Cup game with Panathinaikos, one game in the Copa del Rey and three La Liga matches. Italian Christian Abbiati will deputise in goal during his absence. Midfielder Jurado will also be out for approximately a month after doctors confirmed that he has ruptured a muscle in his left leg. Early reports suggest that he may be back in time for Atletico's first game of the new year away at Deportivo. Jurado picked up the strain during training, his second injury of the season so far after damaging his right ankle earlier in the campaign.
