Luis Aragones has again omitted Raul from his Spain squad for the Euro 2008 qualifier against Denmark.

Real captain again left out by Aragones

Luis Aragones has again omitted Raul from his Spain squad for the crucial Euro 2008 qualifier against Denmark next week. Despite his impressive form for Real Madrid, Raul has failed to win back his place in the national team as Aragones remains loyal to his favoured forwards. Barcelona defender Carles Puyol is back in the squad after missing last month's matches through injury. Valencia defender Raul Albiol and Espanyol midfielder Albert Riera are surprise inclusions in the 20-man squad. "Our qualification for Euro 2008 is at stake," Aragones told Spanish press. "I know Riera from my time at Mallorca and he's technically a great player." Spain take on Denmark in the crunch Group F encounter in Aarhus on 13th October. Victory for the visitors would put them on the cusp of qualification for the European Championship in Austria and Switzerland next summer. Full squad: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Jose Reina (Liverpool); Pablo Ibanez (Atletico Madrid), Mariano Pernia (Atletico Madrid), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Carlos Marchena (Valencia), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal), Raul Albiol (Valencia); Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), David Silva (Valencia), Xavi (Barcelona), David Albelda (Valencia), Miguel Angel Angulo (Valencia), Joaquin (Valencia), Albert Riera (Espanyol); David Villa (Valencia), Fernando Torres (Liverpool), Luis Garcia (Espanyol)
