Gonzales blasts jeering fans

Deportivo's Sergio Gonzales says the club's fans are not helping their poor form by jeering at games.

Depor midfielder tells boo-boys to stay at home

Deportivo's Sergio Gonzales has stated that he would rather critical fans stay at home than go to games to jeer at the team. The Catalan midfielder spoke out after fans at the Raizor made their discontent known throughout the team's defeat against Recreativo in midweek. Depor have suffered a tough start to the season under Miguel Angel Lotina, but Gonzales believes that the pressure from the club's fans does not help. "The Raizor is putting extra pressure on us at the moment," he said in AS.

Obvious tension

"The atmosphere is a bit strange. The smallest thing causes problems and that may make the players not try some things in case they make mistakes. "When we play at home, the tension is obvious. "Football is like plays in the theatre, when there are more people there you feel at ease, but the people who come should not add more pressure to the team. "If they do not support us then that is their choice, but they should not whistle us."
