Sanchez agrees to stay with Zaragoza

Real Zaragoza goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez has committed his future to the club until 2009. Sanchez's current deal expires at the end of this season but Zaragoza have moved quickly to tie him up for an extra year. The 36-year-old has been a consistent performer for Zaragoza since moving to La Romareda in the summer of 2005. The former Real Madrid keeper remains first-choice for Zaragoza and is happy to put pen-to-paper on a new contract. "This shows the club has a lot of confidence in my work," he told the Spanish press. "I have always fought to be No.1 and perhaps this stay in Zaragoza has been one of the best in my career."
