Coyle wants winger to have trial before offering a contract

Owen Coyle insists he will not offer Fabrice Pancrate a contract until the Frenchman has had a trial at Burnley. Pancrate is available on a free transfer after leaving Paris St Germain and has been linked with a move to Turf Moor. Clarets boss Coyle has confirmed he is interested in taking a look at the 29-year-old, who spent five years on PSG's books. However, Coyle admits he is reluctant to offer the winger a deal until he has trained with the Premier League new boys. "He's been a top player in France for five years and these players are often reluctant to come on trial," said Coyle. "He's got a good pedigree, but I'm not prepared to offer him something having not seen him in the flesh." Pancrate was wanted by Hull City 12 months ago and is now assessing whether to accept the offer of a trial with Burnley.
