Striker expects German interest after suffering relegation

FC Nantes striker Ivan Klasnic has announced his wish to leave the relegated French side and has the Bundesliga in his sights. The Croatia international, who was born in Germany, moved to France last summer on a four-year contract but their unexpected relegation has left him seeking another move. Klasnic began his career at German side St.Pauli before spending seven years at Werder Bremen prior to his Ligue 1 move. The 29-year-old is hoping reported interest from Hertha Berlin and Hamburg can materialise if he is to return to the league he made his name in. "I am on the lookout, I am looking for a new club," he said. "I am not focused on Germany but I am well looking at the possibility as I have a certain reputation in Bundesliga and know the league very well. Klasnic found it difficult to settle at the club and netted just six league goals as Nantes went down on the final day of Ligue 1 and admits his frustration at being dropped. "It took me some time to settle in France to be honest, but after the winter break it looked quite fine," added Klasnic. "Then however, I was on tour with Croatia and after coming back I did not get picked by the manager regularly anymore."
