Bagayoko Nice deal unlikely

Mamadou Bagayoko's agent has played down talk of a move to Nice.

Reports in France are linking Nice with a move for Mamadou Bagayoko but his agent has told skysports.com that this is an unlikely scenario.

The pacey Malian has attracted interest from The Premiership and has previously intimated a desire to move to England.

However, press reports from France have suggested Nice are close to agreeing a deal for the Nantes striker.

Bagayoko's agent, Craig Hutchinson, has confirmed that talk of a move to Nice is news to him and that it is unlikely a deal will be struck at this juncture.

''I know nothing about that,'' Hutchinson told skysports.com.

''He's not really a Nice like player - in that I know what they could pay and I know what he's on now.

''Nantes are also looking for a fee and I don't think Nice would be able to pay it.

''I think it's just a case of them (the French press) throwing a name in the air.''

Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Portsmouth and Southampton have all been linked with the powerful striker in the past but it remains to be seen whether they firm up their interest before the new campaign.

Meanwhile, Kaiserslautern defender Bill Tchato has reportedly agreed a three-year deal at Nice.

The Cameroon international left back is expected to join up with his new team-mates for pre-season training in the next few days.
