Lille grab win at Lorient as Dijon boost survival prospects

Reigning champions Lille are not giving up their title without a fight after battling for victory at Lorient, while Dijon were the big winners at the bottom end of the table. Mathieu Debuchy scored a 76th minute winner as Lille beat Lorient 1-0 away from home to close to within eight points of leaders Paris St Germain. Marseille endured a frustrating 1-1 draw at home with Valenciennes, with Brandao striking the post a minute from time for Didier Deschamps' side. Alou Diarra had earlier given Marseille a 16th minute lead, but Gil's 51st minute goal earned Valenciennes a point. In a congested bottom half of the table, Dijon were the only relegation candidates to pick up three points after a 3-0 home success over fellow strugglers Nice. On-loan Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta opened the scoring for Dijon on 44 minutes before creating the second goal for Brice Jovial eight minutes after half-time. Koro Issa Kone scored the third goal three minutes from time to lift Dijon five points clear of the relegation zone. Ajaccio missed a golden opportunity to boost their survival hopes after Eduardo Ribeiro saw an 84th minute penalty saved in a 0-0 home draw with Brest. Sochaux and Auxerre occupied the bottom two positions in the standings at the start of the day and the two sides played out a 0-0 stalemate. Sidney Govou scored a dramatic last-gasp equaliser to salvage a 2-2 draw for Evian at Caen which leaves both teams three points outside the bottom three. Pierre-Alain Frau put Caen ahead in first-half stoppage-time from the penalty spot, but Evian levelled five minutes after the interval through Cedric Barbosa. Caen's lead was restored on 57 minutes through Livio Nabab, but experienced attacker Govou pounced in the fourth minute of added time to earn Evian a point. Toulouse remain firmly in the mix for European qualification following a comfortable 3-0 win away to lowly Nancy. Pantxi Sirieix made the breakthrough as early as the ninth minute for Toulouse and Paulo Machado then struck the post on 17 minutes. The visitors were not to be denied as Adrian Regattin scored the second two minutes later and Emmanuel Riviere added the third on 72 minutes.
