Auxerre snare Dane

Auxerre have completed the capture of Brondby midfielder Thomas Kahlenberg.

Auxerre have ended a lengthy hunt by completing the capture of Brondby midfielder Thomas Kahlenberg.

The French side have been on the trail of the Denmark international for some time and coach Jacques Santini has finally snared his man.

Kahlenberg has signed a four-year deal and becomes Santini's second signing, following on from Guinean Omar Kaalabane.

Brondby had hoped to keep hold of Kahlenberg, but the player's desire to make the move to France proved decisive.

Kahlenberg has expressed delight at securing a move to Auxerre.

"It is of course a dream coming true and I feel happy, proud and relieved," Kahlenberg told Brondby's official website.

"I have been tremendously happy during my time at Brondby, it is my club.

"But my personal ambitions require a bigger challenge after three good years at Brondby.

"I have a really good feeling about the move to Auxerre.

I now look forward to testing my talent in one of the big leagues in Europe."

Brondby IF director Per Bjerregaard confirmed that the transfer fee was 'satisfactory'.
