The home side got off to a dream start with Waldir Lucas firing them in front in the very first minute.

The lead proved short-lived as Bonaventure Kalou drew Auxerre level three minutes later.

Abdelnasser Ouadah restored Ajaccio's lead five minutes before the break and Edson De Faria gave them a two-goal cushion on 57 minutes.

Ouadah grabbed a fourth for Ajaccio on 69 minutes to seemingly put the game beyond Auxerre.

Auxerre refused to give up and Teemu Tainio reduced the arrears on 86 minutes andalthough Kanga Akale pulled a third back deep back into injury time Ajaccio held on for all three points
