Monaco have faith in current coach

Monaco chairman Etienne Franzi is confident Laurent Banide will still be the club's coach in 2011/12. The French tactician returned to Stade Louis II for a second spell in January, following the dismissal of Guy Lacombe. He has been unable to drag Monaco clear of a relegation dogfight, but has edged them one point clear of the drop zone with five games of the season remaining. Whatever happens from here on in, Franzi is convinced the club have found the right coach for them and hopes Banide will remain at the helm for the foreseeable future. He told L'Equipe: "He has one year left on his contract and I am happy with him. "When Guy Lacombe left, a change was needed. I don't see why we need to go through that again with Laurent Banide. "The results are fine at the moment and the squad seems to be happier. Banide will be allowed to press on with his mission."
