Striker linked with Sunderland switch in the summer

Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath does not want to extend the stay of reported Sunderland target Dieumerci Mbokani beyond the end of the season. The striker is on loan in Germany from parent club Monaco and an option was included in the deal to make the move permanent. Mbokani joined Wolfsburg in January, prior to Magath's appointment, but has played just seven Bundesliga matches and is currently unavailable due to a knee injury. Sunderland have been linked with a bid for the 25-year-old, but Magath is not interested in anything beyond the end of the season. Magath told Bild: "Dieumerci Mbokani is on loan at our club. His loan spell will expire at the end of the season. "We have decided not to buy him, the option has expired."
