Sedan starlet Paul Baysse has revealed that Blackburn have expressed an interest in signing him.

The 21-year-old defender is currently much sought-after across Europe following a number of impressive displays in Ligue 2.

A host of clubs are believed to have expressed an interest in acquiring his services, with tentative approaches already made.

The former Bordeaux man was blocked from leaving his current employers over the summer, with Sedan understandably keen to keep him on board, but Baysse has hinted that he is willing to move on.

He has confirmed that Blackburn are among those to have lodged an interest, although no deal has been put in place with the men from Ewood Park.

"The night we played Nantes, I had the opportunity to meet with Blackburn officials along with my agent and Sedan officials," Baysse said in France Football.

Plans

It has been reported that Wolves are also hot on the youngster's trail, but Baysse is reluctant to join a side occupying a precarious standing in their respective league.

He is, however, expecting to be on the move in the not too distant future and has set his sights on playing at the highest possible level.

"I don't want to leave just for the sake of it," he said.

"But I have not changed my mind. I want to go on improving in an intelligent way and I want to go as far as possible."
