Italian club yet to hold talks with Wolfsburg regarding defender

On-loan defender Simon Kjaer's preference is to stay at Roma beyond this season rather than return to parent club Wolfsburg. Kjaer joined Roma on a season-long loan deal last summer and the Serie A club have the option to sign the Denmark international permanently. Roma recently hinted the club would hang on to Kjaer after dismissing reports he would be signed and then exchanged for Palermo's Matias Silvestre. The centre-half's agent Mikkel Beck is waiting for Roma to make a decision on Kjaer's future, but confirmed the player is keen to stay at the Stadio Olimpico. "The two clubs will have a talk at the end of May when the season is finished," Beck told BT. "There is a date specified in the loan deal when Roma will have to say yes or no, and we are just taking it easy. "Simon would prefer to stay in Roma. He is enjoying himself as a person and footballer."
