Pedretti content at Sochaux

By Patrick Haond
Sochaux schemer Benoit Pedretti admits he has no burning desire to quit the club in search of greener pastures abroad.

Pedretti recently penned a contract to keep him at Stade Bonal until 2006 to ensure Sochaux would not lose him for nothing if he opted to quit the club next summer.

Lyon, Marseille and Paris Saint Germain are all keen to offer the France international the opportunity to take the next step up the professional ladder.

But with Sochaux challenging for a UEFA Champions League berth, Pedretti is more than happy to put discussions regarding his future on the back-burner.

The 23-year-old is tempted by the various attractions of England, Italy and Spain but is in no rush to leave his homeland.

"At the moment my departure is not topical," Pedretti told France Football. "We are in December and Sochaux are still involved in all competitions.

"This question will come back in time. Moreover, I have just prolonged my contract with Sochaux until June 2006 so I am 150 percent at Sochaux!

"Also, there is no special club that makes me dream. The ones that attract me are the ones that win titles regularly.

"Considering the people's fervour and the atmosphere in the stadiums, I am attracted by England.

"For the quality in the game, I prefer Spain. Italy is much better from a tactical aspect. So each league has a special appeal."
