Triple blow for Rennes

Rennes have suffered a treble injury blow.

Rennes have suffered a treble injury blow.

The Stade de la Route de Lorient outfit celebrated a terrific 1-0 win over Lyon at the weekend, but they paid the price with three injuries.

Playmaker Olivier Monterrubio (pictured) has been sidelined for three weeks after spraining his ankle.

Adailton went down with a calf problem which will rule him out of this weekend's clash with Lens.

But it was Ghana defender John Mensah who suffered the worst problem of the three, after he strained a thigh muscle which could sideline him up to the winter break in Ligue 1.

With a host of clubs, including many from The Premiership, considering a January move for Mensah - then he could even have played his last game in a Rennes shirt.
