Dreossi points finger

Pierre Dreossi has been disappointed with Bruno Cheyrou's performances at Rennes.

Rennes coach Pierre Dreossi has been disappointed with the performances of midfielder Bruno Cheyrou since his summer switch.

Cheyrou moved to the Stade de la Route-de-Lorient from Liverpool after Bordeaux turned down the chance to sign him permanently despite an impressive loan spell.

However, the 28-year-old is yet to shine for his new club and Dreossi admits his side are lacking in midfield.

"He is far away from the player we saw at Bordeaux," Dreossi said.

"We miss a man that can organise the game, a talented player in the midfield."

Dreossi tried desperately to bring in another midfielder in the summer and rumours are already beginning to surface about possible January arrivals.

Meanwhile, defender Jacques Faty is attracting the interest of Didier Deschamps at Juventus.

The 22-year-old has found first-team opportunities at Rennes hard to come by and will become a free agent in the summer.

Deschamps is a fan of Faty and could be tempted to try and lure the youngster to Italy.
