Bordeaux defender Souleymane Diawara has reiterated his desire to secure a move to Marseille.
Diawara has impressed since joining Bordeaux from Charlton Athletic two years ago, but wants to be allowed to join the club's Ligue 1 rivals.
He feels he can not turn down the chance to sign for Marseille after being left disappointed by Bordeaux's offer of a new contract.
And he believes Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc would understand his decision if he is given the chance to explain his reasons for wanting a move.
"I have chosen," the Senegal stopper told
L'Equipe. "I want to go and play at Marseille.
"Who could refuse Marseille? It is a great club, ambitious, famous, with amazing fans and atmosphere.
"I have not decided to leave for money matters. When I signed for Bordeaux from Charlton I made financial efforts and I never complained.
"But now we are champions. Bordeaux made me an offer and I have been left disappointed.
"Bordeaux allowed me to discover the Champions League. Coach Laurent Blanc and his assistant Jean-Louis Gasset helped me to learn a lot.
"I would like to talk with Laurent Blanc to explain what I feel. I am convinced he would understand, as he played for several clubs in his career.
"I would like it to be sorted out quickly."
