Verts move for Dernis

St Etienne boss Ivan Hasek has boosted his squad with the capture of Geoffrey Dernis.

St Etienne boss Ivan Hasek has boosted his squad with the capture of Geoffrey Dernis from Lille.

Hasek is eager to put his own stamp on the club and he has handed a three-year deal to Dernis.

Dernis was a fringe player at Lille and Hasek has lured him to Les Verts with the prospect of regular playing time.

The midfielder is unlikely to be the only arrival of the summer, as Hasek has trained his sights on Peggy Luyindula.

The forward spent last term on loan at Auxerre from Marseille and Hasek is a fan, having coached him at Strasbourg earlier in his career.
