Marseille keeping Ribery

Marseille sport director Jose Anigo insists they will not sell Franck Ribery.

Marseille sport director Jose Anigo insists they will not sell Franck Ribery.

A number of clubs are believed to be weighing up a move for the exciting winger in the January transfer window.

Ribery has enjoyed a fine season for club and country and his performances have attracted the interest of a host of clubs including Tottenham and Manchester United.

Marseille are determined to keep hold of the France Under-21 international and insist he is untransferable.

"About Ribery, I will tell you right now he is untransferable, neither during the winter transfer window nor in June," said Anigo.

"If we do it will be without my agreement. We can't sell our best players if we want a strong team. We must stop being stupid and say nothing.

"If he leaves, that would say to the OM fans they will never have a strong team.

"So I could understand their anger, and there would also be mine.

"In a year and a half, we will see, it will be different."

Meanwhile, Marseille midfielder Wilson Oruma has done a U-turn and decided to play for Nigeria at next month's African Cup of Nations.

Oruma had earlier indicated he would not play in the tournament, but he has now changed his mind with Nigerian having a new manager in charge.

"The Nigerian coach has changed," said Oruma.

"They talk about me and people can see I am in a good shape. I won't refuse to wear my country's colours."
