Marseille to unveil Lamouchi

Marseille are expected to unveil Sabri Lamouchi on Monday.

Marseille are expected to unveil the signing of former France international Sabri Lamouchi on Monday.

The 33-year-old was available on a free transfer after having his Internazionale contract cancelled by mutual agreement.

Lamouchi, who is expected to put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with l'OM, is delighted to seal his Championnat return.

The experienced midfielder had stated he would return to Genoa for a second season on loan and was thankful the club allowed him to break his agreement.

"I am very happy to be free," said Lamouchi to L'Equipe. "The situation was quite complex.

"There was Internazionale, and also Genoa. I gave Genoa my verbal and written agreement for a second year.

"I want to thank the Genoa chairman who understood the situation, and my absolute desire to come back to France with Marseille.

"I have not signed anything yet with l'OM, I will probably do it early next week. I'll sign for one season.

"I am very excited. I would have been mad to refuse such a challenge. I am eager to begin playing for l'OM."
