Austria Vienna have signed Marseille midfielder Stepan Vachousek on a permanent basis.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Austria Vienna and impressed at the club helping them win the Austrian Cup.

Vachousek has penned a three-year deal at the Austrian outfit.

However, they will have to wait before seeing the player in action, as he recently undergone surgery on a knee problem.

Meanwhile, Marseille have turned down a bid from German side Hamburg for Taye Taiwo.

The Nigerian defender has impressed Hamburg while playing for his country at the World Youth Championship and they made an enquiry for his services.

Taiwo admitted he was flattered to be linked with Hamburg and he is hoping to hold talks with Marseille over a new improved deal or else he will move on.

"I'm flattered that a top club like Hamburg now want me," Taiwo told Kickoff.com.

"But I still have two more years of my contract with Marseille, who are also a big club in their own right.

"They have flatly turned down Hamburg, but at the same time, I now have to renegotiate my contract with them - I need a pay rise so that I can stay at Marseille.

"If not, I will have to look elsewhere."
