Duo linked with l'OM exit

Bixente Lizarazu and Benoit Pedretti could both leave Marseille in the New Year.

Bixente Lizarazu and Benoit Pedretti could both leave Marseille in the New Year.

Both players only arrived at the Stade Velodrome in the summer, but have failed to settle at the club.

Lizarazu is considering his future in the game after failing to feature under new Marseille boss Philippe Troussier.

The former Bayern Munich defender refused to be among the substitutes against Auxerre at the weekend after learning he would not be in the starting line-up.

Lizarazu, who signed a two-year deal at Marseille when he arrived on a free transfer, is now believed to be seriously considering hanging up his boots to take a role in the media.

Pedretti's future is also shrouded in doubt with the French international not hitting the heights since his arrival from Sochaux.

The 24-year-old has struggled to adapt to Marseille's style of play and he could leave on loan during the January transfer window.
