Ligue 1 round-up

Second place Bordeaux claimed a 1-0 win over Lens at Stade Chaban-Delmas.

Second place Bordeaux claimed a 1-0 win over Lens at Stade Chaban-Delmas on Saturday evening.

With the title race threatening to turn into a procession and Lyon in danger of disappearing over the hill, Bordeaux knew they could afford no slip-ups at home to Lens.

In a tight match former Sunderland striker Lilian Laslandes' successful conversion of a 27th minute penalty was enough for Bordeaux to claim all three points.

Bordeaux now trail champions and leaders Lyon by 11 points while Lens remain in seventh on 35 points.

Auxerre claimed a 2-0 win over Rennes to maintain their hold on third place.

The breakthrough did not arrive until the 68th minute, however, when Luigi Pieroni dispatched a penalty beyond Rennes goalkeeper Simon Pouplin.

Thomas Kahlenberg's strike ten minutes from time made sure of the three points.

Le Mans drew 1-1 with Toulouse at Leon Bollee.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro gave the visitors the lead in the 11th minute but their advantage lasted just twelve minutes when Vinicius de Melo drew the sides level.

Elsewhere, Marseille could not find the route to goal in a 0-0 with Sochaux while Nancy and Ajaccio also failed to break the 90-minute deadlock, a result which left the visitors still some eight points adrift of fourth-from-bottom Troyes in Ligue 1's relegation zone.
