Vercoutre could leave Lyon

Remy Vercoutre has admitted he could be tempted to leave Lyon.

Lyon goalkeeper Remy Vercoutre has admitted he could be tempted to leave the Stade Gerland in search of more first-team opportunities.

Vercoutre is currently back-up to number one Gregory Coupet at l'OL and is ready to try and grab a starting place elsewhere.

The 26-year-old has been with the French champions since 2002 and has revealed a desire for change in the summer.

"I want to play next year," Vercoutre told But. "That will not necessarily be the case at Lyon.

"I have been sitting on the bench for a couple of years and I want to play.

"We will talk in the summer.

"I will ask the coach and the chairman. I know there are more important players before me. My situation will be studied after the others.

"Juninho and Gregory Coupet are much more important than Remy Vercoutre."

Lyon are reportedly lining up talented Nice keeper Hugo Loris as the club's number two next season.
