Aulas halts Domenech dispute

Jean Michel Aulas has drawn a line under his dispute with Raymond Domenech.

Lyon chairman Jean Michel Aulas has drawn a line under his dispute with France coach Raymond Domenech.

Aulas has previously been critical of Domenech's selection policy with the official complaining that the coach had pressured Eric Abidal into rushing his comeback from a serious foot injury.

However, Domenech did not start with a single Lyon player against Slovakia on Wednesday, while Abidal only played the final half an hour.

And, with UEFA Champions League engagements just around the corner for Gerard Houllier's side, Aulas praised Domenech for his understanding.

"I think Raymond was right to protect the Lyon players," said Aulas.

"He played them for the minimum amount of time, just like his Brazilian counterpart [Carlos Parreira], who played our Brazilians players for a single half.

"The incident is over."
