Brazilian striker Nene has completed a £5million move to Monaco.
The forward, who reportedly courted interest from a number of clubs in England, has left Celta Vigo in order to move to France.
Nene has put pen-to-paper on a five year contract at the Louis II Stadium.
Celta Vigo paid Alaves £4.5m for Nene in 2006, but after their relegation to the Spanish Segunda Division he has decided to leave the club.
Nene has admitted his delight in making the move and is now looking forward to playing in France.
"I am happy with the deal and now my only desire is to triumph in France," he told French media.
