Scottish striker signs two-year deal at Turf Moor

Burnley have swooped to sign Steven Thompson from Championship rivals Cardiff City. Thompson has accepted a two-year contract at Turf Moor and joins Owen Coyle's side on a free transfer. The Scot had spent two-and-a-half years at Cardiff after joining the club from SPL giants Rangers. He scored 17 goals in 106 appearances for the Bluebirds and had featured in all four Championship games so far this season. However, the 29-year-old has now clinched a move to Burnley, with manager Coyle having been keen to improve his attacking options.
