Motherwell boss Stuart McCall expects forward Jamie Murphy to leave Fir Park later this week.

Murphy is due to play for the Steelmen against Celtic on Wednesday in what will almost certainly be his last game for the club.

Sheffield United are the only club to make enquires about the 23-year-old and McCall confirmed Murphy is has started talks with the English League One team.

McCall said: "I believe he is in discussions with a club.

"He will certainly be playing against Celtic and depending on how discussions go, it looks more than likely that he will move.

"I believe Sheffield United are the club he is possibly speaking to. Who knows, the way he has been playing in the last few months there could be other offers."

Meanwhile defender Jonathan Page has been released from his Fir Park contract six months before it was due to expire and is expected to join Hamilton Academical - where he has been playing on loan - until the end of the season.
