Inverness keeper determined to prove his worth

Inverness Caledonian Thistle goalkeeper Ryan Esson has expressed his desire to win a new contract with the SPL club. The 32-year-old, who is out of contract this summer, knows Monday's 3-0 defeat to Dundee United was not acceptable. As one of Inverness' more senior players, Esson says their performance was not up to scratch and he will strive to work harder. The club have yet to open contract talks regarding an extension and Esson would like for talks to begin so he can finalise his future.

Responsibility

"You have to show a bit of desire. I'm sure the boys will sit down to watch a video of the game and see it on reflection. We'll take a look in the mirror. I'll do that myself," said Esson. "I'm one of the more experienced players so I've no problem accepting responsibility. I've enjoyed my time here and I'd like to start speaking to the club about a new contract. "I'm sure the manager knows who he wants to keep. I've done well this season but I strive to do better. I'm 32 this month but feel as though there's a lot of life in me yet."
