McBain delight at deal talks

Roy McBain is in line to win a new contract at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder Roy McBain has revealed his delight at being told the club are ready to discuss a new deal.

The 31-year-old is out of contract next summer but his performances for the SPL outfit have convinced manager Charlie Christie that his contract should be extended.

Mark Brown, Craig Dargo, Grant Munro, Graham Bayne, Rory McAllister and Liam Keogh are also set to be handed extensions, and McBain is keen to put pen-to-paper as soon as possible.

"The manager has told me we will be sitting down soon to discuss a new deal and I'm delighted as my contract is up soon," McBain told the Daily Record.

"Hopefully we can get things sorted as I'm really enjoying my football.

"It's been good for me to have a consistent run in the side because the manager has so many good alternatives."

Caley Thistle's director of football Graeme Bennett also confirmed that the club will open negotiations with a range of players in the coming weeks.

"We'll be speaking to a number of players in the next week or two," said Bennett.
