City move for Celtic defender after Leeds deal falls through

Sky Sports understands Bristol City are in the frame to sign Celtic defender Mark Wilson after a move to Leeds fell through. Celtic are happy to loan out Wilson so that he can regain his fitness after recovering from knee surgery. Wilson is well down the pecking order at Parkhead with recent signing Mikael Lustig also increasing competition for places in the right-back spot. Leeds expressed an interest in taking Wilson on loan as Simon Grayson looks to bring in a new full-back with right-back being a problematic position for the Whites this season. However, the move is thought to have fallen through and now Bristol City are ready to move for the 27-year-old. Robins boss Derek McInnes has made a new right-back one of his top priorities and he hopes to take Wilson to Ashton Gate.
