The Rugby Park fringe players came in from the cold and repaid Williamson's faith by securing a 2-1 win at Aberdeen on Saturday, which continued the third-placed side's progress after a defeat last weekend at home to St Johnstone.
It was Craig Dargo who was the hero in midweek with the winner at Dundee United, and James Fowler also struck gold on the road, as he netted in the win at Pittodrie, which was Killie's sixth a way success of the season - the best in the SPL.
"We had only four fit defenders and they were the ones who played," said Williamson. "But I am very pleased for the boys because a lot of them have not featured for a while and they stepped in to do a good job."
Apart form Fowler's goal, Peter Canero came in an shone in defence, while Mark Reilly got his first start in midfield and Jerome Vareille came off the bench after Dargo's work had tired the Dons defence out.
And Dargo - who set up both goals - revealed that Rugby Park's "no-stars" system is what has helped build the spirit of a side which has lost only one (the trip to Celtic) of its ten away games.
"The manager involves everyone in training, not just the guys he expects to be in the eleven and that has made a big difference to us," he said.
"I have been out of the squad for a while but you never feel excluded because the boss uses everyone in training so we know how each other plays. It meant everyone who was thrown in here was ready and it earned us a great result."
