Hibernian manager Alan Stubbs praised his side after they matched Edinburgh rivals Hearts in their 1-1 draw at Tynecastle.

The visitors took the lead through Jason Cummings but the Jambos equalised through Jamie Walker five minutes before the break.

Hearts retain their unbeaten league record but saw their lead reduced to 13 points after Rangers won at home to Dumbarton.

Stubbs is convinced the title is still Hearts' to lose though and he was delighted with how his team performed.

We looked bright on the attack and we were a real threat. We were clever in possession and, most importantly, we were brave.

"We have come to the home of the leaders and they have been fantastic in their form - but we are as good as anyone in this division,” he said.

"We probably just didn't start the season as strongly as we would have liked and there are reasons for that.

"It was two form teams going at it, head to head. We've come out of it with a point, I'm a little bit disappointed. With the way we played, I don't think anyone would have begrudged us taking three points.

"To come to Tynecastle in front of the leaders and to put a performance on the way we did, the players deserve a huge amount of credit. They've come a long way and they're a different bunch of lads.

"We looked bright on the attack and we were a real threat. We were clever in possession and, most importantly, we were brave."

Hearts head coach Robbie Neilson declared himself satisfied with the draw that keeps up their impressive run of form this season.

"I thought it was a great point for us. It keeps the unbeaten run going,” he said.

"It was a difficult game because Hibs had to win to get their title challenge running again so for us to take a point was good.

"You want to win every game but sometimes a point will do.

"We are 19 games undefeated now and we go to Dumbarton next week. We dropped our first points against them this season and we want to right that wrong."
