Midfielder heads back to Foxes

Jonathan Hayes has cut short his loan spell at Northampton after being ruled out for the rest of the season. The 20-year-old winger will now return to Leicester after discovering the severity of an ankle injury. He sustained the problem while playing for the Cobblers' reserve side against Colchester on Tuesday, but had hoped to recover in time to feature before the end of the current campaign. Hayes had been at Sixfields Stadium since January and had made 11 appearances for Stuart Gray's side in League One.

Commitment

"It is a shame that Jonathan's injury has cut short his loan spell," Gray told the club's official website. "I would like to thank Jonathan for his effort and commitment and thank Leicester for allowing us to borrow Jonathan. "We wish him well for the future."
