Dons face fight for Zdrilic

ABERDEEN face competition from an unnamed Norwegian club for Australian striker David Zdrilic.

The Dons have stepped up their interest in Zdrilic after failing in a bid for Falkirk's Lee Miller.

Falkirk rejected Aberdeen's £175,000 offer for Miller and Dons boss Steve Paterson will now look at Zdrilic.

Paterson has offered the former Walsall hit-man a trial at Pittodrie, but will have to wait for him to arrive as he is currently undergoing a stint with a mystery club in Norway.

"I want two strikers and a defensive midfield player," said Paterson.

"Zdrilic is on trial with a club in Norway and will not be free until Monday. I have a couple of other strikers in mind but neither is in Scotland."

Paterson also revealed he has invited Greek midfielder Giorgos Barkoglou for a ten-day trial at Pittodrie.

"He's 25, available on a Bosman and comes recommended," added Paterson.
