New Rangers boss Paul Le Guen is understood to be tracking Rennes ace Etienne Didot.
Didot is highly rated and has previously been linked with PSV Eindhoven, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham.
The 22-year-old has two-years left on his current contract and is one of the names Le Guen is said to be considering making a move for.
Le Guen does not take charge at Ibrox until the summer, but he is already looking at which players he wants to bolster his squad.
Should Le Guen opt to make a move for Didot, then he may face competition from Marseille who are said to have shown an interest in recent weeks.
