Italian's time cut short

Italian striker Filippo Maniero has left Rangers after an agreement was reached by all parties involved.

Maniero joined the Glaswegian club in August, with the understanding that if was not working out, either the club or the player could decide that it was time to move on.

The situation allowed manager Alex McLeish (pictured) the opportunity to have a thorough look at the former Torino and Parma man, however he failed to force his way into first-team reckoning at Ibrox.

"We signed Pippo in the summer and had a reciprocal agreement that if either party felt it would be better to go our separate ways then that would be the case," McLeish confirmed on the club's official website.

"We wish Pippo all the very best in the future."
