Midfielder hopes to return before end of the season

Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal is determined to return to action before the end of the season and defy the medics. Kayal was expected to miss the rest of the campaign after being forced to undergo ankle surgery last month following a tackle by Rangers' Lee McCulloch in the Old Firm game at Celtic Park. Israel international Kayal is refusing to give up hope of making a shock comeback before the end of the season. "I had surgery three weeks ago on my ankle and the Celtic doctor told me to rest for four months so I came home to visit family and friends," Kayal told the Daily Record.

Improving

"More than anything, I hope Celtic keep their place at the top of the SPL and we win the championship. "I am hoping to celebrate winning the title with the players and am looking to come back and end the season strongly. "My situation is improving. I am starting my rehabilitation and there is a chance I will come back earlier than planned. "I already miss football but the main thing is that I come back 100 per cent."
