Centre-back Ash Taylor has signed a contract extension to keep him at Aberdeen until 2017.

The 24-year-old defender moved to Pittodrie in May from Sky Bet League One side Tranmere and he has since established himself as a regular in Derek McInnes' side.

"Ash has matured into his role in the team as the season has developed and he's turning in to the player I was always confident he would be,” McInnes told the club’s official website.

"It is vital that we have players on board who want to be part of this exciting journey ahead as we strive to deliver success."
